A new multi-million pound electronic patient record designed to revolutionise care is planned to go live at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust next year. The Department of Health has approved funding for the new system for the next five years.

The first of County Hospital's five new wards has opened to patients today (Monday 27 June 2016). The new Ward 15, which cost £3m to build and replaces Ward 10, will support Elderly Care patients. A support handbook created by young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people for other young LGBT people, is due to launch in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 28 May. The handbook, titled ‘Good As You’, provides information on relationships, online safety, sexual health, mental health and ‘helpful people’.
UHNM is one of the top 20 Trusts nationally for flu vaccination uptake. The 'Flu Fighter' team, who managed the vaccination programme, have been given the Chief Executive's Award in recognition of their achievement in vaccinating an incredible 6,996 members of staff. This is a significant advancement on last year's uptake of 4,972, still a high number.
